For this project, I wanted to try having a completely wireless sound set up, using in-ear monitoring systems (IEMs), a wireless boom and radio mics. I worked with my sound assistant, Oscar, so that we could work separately in the space as a sound team. This turned out well, as the location was a small house that meant crew had to be minimal.

I also practiced communcating with Oscar remotely using the built-in microphone on the recorder (Zoom F8N) with him responding through the boom. This helped as I was able to give him the frame edge while we were setting up and I could tell him to get closer if I needed him to.

I am happy to have achieved a working wireless set, and it has taught me about professional sound set-ups and how they work.
