My experience
I worked very closely with the actors on this set, using this experience to improve my skills with lav mics after I had just completed the lav hiding workshop with Pinknoise systems.
In this project I rigged lavs on up to four people, which tested my ability to differentiate different microphones while mixing. It was interesting learning what mics captured what signal tonally and how to mix both of them in post to come out with good dialogue.
I also learnt a lot about attitude and how to work well between the cast and crew. I spent every morning with the cast during set-up, building a relationship with them and the costume and make-up team. I think this helped get the actors comfortable and helped in the long run as I worked with them more.
